Parasite (2019): A Kind You Dont Want to Meet
Parasite, a person or thing that takes something from someone or something else and does not do anything to earn it or deserve it.
Living in a slum of korea, is a family who make boxes of pizza to live. They are residing in a basement and connecting to a free wi-fi nearby. Despite of poverty, they still manage to survive. There are scenes that describe how poor and awful their lives are and how they make ways to stay alive. With good knowledge, the son was hired with the help of his cousin to be an english tutor of a rich man's daughter. One by one, as the story goes, the whole family get hired as an english tutor, an art tutor, a family driver and a maid. It is interesting how they have been hired for their jobs; how they falsify documents and how they make ways to replace the former servants. But it just intrigues me when the rich family first believed these persons they just met to the ones who have served them for so long. Is that how easily they can be deceived with that standing in the society? They do not even confirm the allegations against their former servants. This just pulls me off a little bit.
Until such event happened when the rich family went to vacation and the servants live in the big house like they own it. I don't expect that there would be a commosion and a hidden basement would be discovered. How can an owner of a big house have not known that there is a basement for a very long time and someone is actually living in there. Also, why the owners did not check the condition of unstable flashing of lights in the staircase? They just accept the defectiveness of them even though they wonder at times? And they really just accept that there is a ghost who eats refrigerated food at night. But I like the idea of hidden basement though. Thrilling.
At the end, even though I have seen flaws, I still like the story, the narratives, and the construction.
I like the twist in the end. I am not that fan of happy endings in movies because I like the unusual one. I like the one hanging. Im not a saddist, i just like something new. For clarification only.
Grudge can make people do bad things and kindness does not always helps. Too much comforts and trusts does not make people be loyal and only few words can break them. Lies can not be deceived by truths but truths can forgive lies. And dreams can be achieved if you work hard to get them.
