Enola Holmes (2020): Woman Empowering
First of all, I never know that Sherlock has a younger sister named Enola. Second, I thought he has a sister but she is the eldest. My preferences is based on the TV series Sherlock. Going straight to the movie, since this is connected to the famous Sherlock Holmes movies and TV series, I am also expecting that there are more and more intellectual games, puzzles, and more investigations. Though slightly disappointed, there are much action scenes than the investigative one.
I am not saying that I hate the movie. I like it actually. I like how Enola narrates the story. I like the first person perspective. I like the character of Enola in general. I hate her waistline though. Kidding aside. I am not against on how she was raised. We are just in the standard of growing up with formal education and be firm and proper. Even though she did not attended school, I can say that she is well equip to fight battles in life. She knows how to protect herself and she knows what she believes.
On the other side, Mycroft is still stubborn and Sherlock is still on his safest side. And, I never thought that their intelligence comes from their mother; this is how I thought it so.
If you would ask me, why did I like the movie so much? I like how they lift up Enola in the story, her bravery and how she thought things through. Though she go against his brother, she still obeys him in the end. In this era, men and women are already equal. Women lift each other up and it is so nice to know that there are movies out there that can emphasize this. Just like her mother, I am also into equality. Because we never know who might be this person that can change the world.
